How healthy is your heart?

A 15-minute check helps find early signs before they become bigger issues.

We often think we’d notice if something was wrong, but some of the biggest risks to our heart can be silent. High blood pressure, for example, rarely causes symptoms yet can raise the risk of heart disease or stroke. That’s why regular checks matter.

Together with Tower Hamlets Public Health, we’re bringing free 15-minute heart health checks into the community. It’s a simple way to get a snapshot of your health and take action if needed.

When and where are the checks happening?

Please note : Heart health checks are for people over 18. More dates and venues are coming soon, so check back for updates. Slots will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

What is checked?

  • Blood pressure – you might not notice high blood pressure, but it can seriously raise your risk of heart disease.

  • BMI (Body Mass Index) – a measure that can show if weight may be affecting your health.

  • Diabetes risk – spotting risks early means you can take steps before problems develop.

  • Smoking and alcohol – optional advice and support is available if you’d like help to cut down or quit.

Why it matters

These checks can pick up risks early, even if you feel fine. If anything needs follow-up, you’ll leave with advice, support, or a referral to your GP.

More ways to check your health

If you can’t make it to a community session, you can also use the new self-service health check kiosks in Idea Stores across Tower Hamlets. They’re free to use and give instant results on blood pressure, weight, and BMI. It’s another easy way to keep track of your health.
