Learn to Ride or Family Cycle Loans

1-to-1 Learn to Ride (with Bike Works)
These sessions support adults to learn to ride or build confidence on a bike, with one-to-one support.
When: Weekdays and Saturdays (from March)
Time: 10am – 2.30pm

Family Cycle Loans
Family-friendly cycle loans are available for adults and children to ride together in the park.
When: Every Sunday and during school holidays*
Time: 10am – 1.30pm

Good to know:

  • First come, first served
  • First-time visitors should bring ID and proof of address
  • Pre-registration required
  • Runs every Sunday unless stated otherwise

*School Holiday dates include:

  • February half-term: Wednesday 18 February
  • Easter holidays: Tuesday 31 March, Thursday 2 April, Tuesday 7 April, Thursday 9 April

    Sessions are free.

Do I need to have my own bike?

No bikes are available to loan for the sessions, free of charge. Please arrive a little early if you're borrowing a bike, so the loan can be arranged and the session can start on time.

Do I need to know how to ride a bike?

Not for the 1-2-1 Learn to ride sessions, but Cycle Loans do NOT include any instruction or tuition.

My child is only 6, will there be a bike he can use?

We have a range of adult and child size bikes to loan on a first come, first served basis
